    Under the supervision of the Branch Sales Manager (Operation Manager), the Senior Universal Banker will be responsible for selling BankNewport products and services to both new and existing customers. Bankers are responsible for identifying, expanding and deepening customer relationships through profiling and then recommending appropriate deposit and lending products and services.  The Sr. Universal Banker would also ensure an excellent customer experience by fulfilling service requests and providing efficient and accurate transaction processing. The Sr. Universal Banker will assist the Operations Manager in maintaining the operational integrity of the branch. The Sr. Universal Banker would be responsible for the vault cash and more complex teller transactions.

    Responsibilities

    PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Identify customer needs through discovering by using open ended questions, overcome objections and provide solutions to meet needs and/or refer customers to business partners. Cross Sell bank products to new and existing customers, using the established “Set Your Sales techniques.   Transitions service transaction to building relationships with customers and cross selling other bank product & services.
    • Meet individual and branch sales goals by maximizing each customer interactions, outbound calling and prospecting. Fully understands and participates in PEAK Incentive Plan.

     

    • Originates loan applications, processes and closes loans. Performs maintenance changes to existing accounts, answers customer questions and resolves related account problems. Opens consumer & small business accounts.

     

    • Actively participates in all branch sales and marketing, and community activities.

     

    • Provides exceptional internal & external customer service.

     

    • Demonstrates ownership of any customer problem or request, following up to ensure effective resolution and customer satisfaction.

     

    • Maintain full proficiency in cash handling transactions by performing transactions accurately and in a timely manner. Accurately process transactions within balancing guidelines.

     

    • Maintains proficiency and knowledge of various bank channels and services such as ATM functionality, e-Banking products/services including mobile banking, bill pay and other services. Ensures customers are aware of and know how to use the various channels.

     

    • Adhere to all bank policies and procedures, audit, regulatory and security guidelines.

     

    • Processes and settles ATM work or Vault cash as needed.

     

    • Assists the Branch Operations Manager as needed and acts as a mentor and trainer for other Universal Bankers within the office.

     

    • Open / close retail branch, performing routine functions in preparation for the start or end of the day’s activities including ATM balancing and/or servicing.

     

    • Supervise, coach and guide Universal Bankers to provide excellent customer service and identify sales opportunities while maintaining operations activities at the branch. Provides supervisory override to Universal Bankers. Operational duties and responsibilities vary from branch location.  Serves as a subject matter expert in small business, IRA’s and other complex transactions.

     

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Participate in outbound call nights.
    • Performs related and unrelated duties as may be needed.
    • Sr. Universal Banker will be responsible for fulfilling the Lobby Leader role. The objective of this role is to create an extraordinary experience for customers each time they enter the branch.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    BA/BS degree is preferred or equivalent experience in retail sales. Must have at least 6 months cash handling experience, at least 2 years of successful sales experience in a goal or incentive-based environment and at least 2 years of customer service experience. Must have excellent customer service, communications, problem solving, mathematical, organizational and sales skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Individual must be proficient with technology and Microsoft Office, specifically word and excel and possess familiarity with technical devices including tablets and smartphones.

     

    Supervisory Scope:

    Supervise Universal Bankers as needed

     

    Independent Action: Performs work within established guidelines and according to specific procedures. Refers problems to immediate supervisor.
