Overview

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for a range of accounting and clerical tasks related to the accounts payable (AP) function.  This generally includes receiving and entering invoices, processing payments, and reconciling AP transactions to the general ledger.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of the accounts payable process including inputting invoices, scanning supporting documentation, updating vendor information, processing check and ACH payment batches, and uploading AP transactions to the general ledger.
  • Ensures invoices and employee expense reports are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
  • Ensures required sales/use taxes are included on invoices. Prepares monthly sales/use tax report.
  • Reconciles AP transactions with the general ledger.
  • Provides quality customer service and maintains solid relationships with outside vendors and internal bank personnel.
  • Maintains 1099 information, W9’s and ACH forms on all vendors in accordance with Bank policy and IRS regulations. Generates year-end 1099 forms.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Associate’s Degree in accounting with two years equivalent work experience preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel and Word. Strong communication, organizational and time management skills. Must be adaptable and able to work well in a changing environment. Problem solving and attention to detail skills are essential. Must observe confidentiality, handle multiple concurrent tasks and deal with interruptions. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

None

 

INDEPENDENT ACTION:

Performs work within established guideline and according to specific procedures.  Refers problems to immediate supervisor.
