Performs various duties involved with the flow of loans through the Residential Lending Department in conformance with the Bank’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Performs any functions necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers.

 

  • Reviews title, confirms name, loan amount, property address and rate are correct in Encompass
  • Reviews date appraisal e-sent/mailed to borrower
  • Schedules closing with assigned attorney
  • Ensures all fees are correct and there are no duplicate charges
  • Runs “Mavent” to ensure loan timing, disclosures and fees are in compliance with regulations
  • Prepares initial Closing Disclosure and sends within required time frames
  • Prepares closing documents
  • Completes HMDA closing fields
  • Completes closing checklist and new loan disbursement sheets
  • Reviews and approves final Closing Disclosure
  • Wires funds to attorney
  • Reviews daily “10 day” report and works with processors to manage initial CD issuance schedule
  • Communicates professionally in oral and written format with internal and external customers
  • Continually strives to improve the department’s efficiencies

 

OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs related and unrelated duties as may be required
  • May assist with mortgage processing as needed
  • Provides back up assistance to post-closing and registration
  • Cross trains and provides backup to consumer lending closers
  • Works with management to test/develop new products including relevant forms and guidelines
  • Assists manager to maintain and update the Closing Procedures folder
  • Acts as a back up to manager on any closing issues during manager’s absence
  • Standard 40 hour work week expected, though position may sometimes require early arrival, late departure or weekend hours

 

 

SUPERVISORY SCOPE:

Limited supervisory responsibility  

 

INDEPENDENT ACTION:

Performs work within established guidelines and according to specific procedures.  Refers problems to immediate supervisor.

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School diploma or its equivalent.
    • At least two years of banking experience with an emphasis on lending.
    • Experienced closer with a demonstrated proficiency in all phases of mortgage lending.
    • At least two years’ experience in mortgage closing.  
    • Understanding of mortgage production workflow and lending systems.
    • Must be detail oriented and be able to meet strict deadlines.
    • Good communications, interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills required.
    • Must be able to use various types of office equipment including a personal computer.

  • Meet the hybrid work schedule requirements for physically working in the office during normal business hours on Mondays and Wednesdays and another day of choice to effectively meet business needs.
  • Move office items weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Work in an environment with low to moderate noise levels.
